Then, at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, Salgado and Fernando Sanz will lead a panel discussion titled “A Career in LaLiga and Bringing the Experience to the U.S.” Salgado, a current LaLiga Ambassador, and Sanz, the General Director of LaLiga Middle East & North Africa, both enjoyed stellar playing careers in LaLiga. They’ll discuss their development as players and how the methods that formed will be brought to the United States in more detail through the LaLiga/US Club Soccer technical partnership and the LaLiga Formation Methodology courses being hosted by US Club Soccer in 2016.
US Club Soccer Executive Vice President Christian Lavers will moderate the panel. You can view a summary and biographies of the panel discussion here.
The convention exhibit hall opens to the public Thursday at 6 p.m. Salgado and Sanz will be at the US Club Soccer booth at 6:30 p.m. for an autograph session.
On Friday, LaLiga methodology experts Fullaondo and Blanco will present a classroom session titled “A Youth Development Outline from Spain – LaLiga Methods and Philosophy.” This presentation will outline some of the key philosophies and methods in youth development used by LaLiga youth academies, which will be introduced through US Club Soccer’s LaLiga Formation Methodology courses later this year.
Fullaondo is the technical advisor for the Committee of Football Coaches of the Royal Spanish Football Federation and the director of Kimet Sport. Blanco is LaLiga’s Sports Projects Coordinator and has extensive experience with the Galician Football Federation and Galician School of Coaching. “This is a unique opportunity for LaLiga to share our insight with the American soccer coaching audience,” said Sanz. “It is a big step for our organization to invest resources to assist development of American soccer, and we look forward to deepening our relationships with the thousands of youth coaches in attendance.”
