Jed Mettee is the Vice President of Marketing and Communications for MLS’s San Jose Earthquakes.

In the Positive Coaching Alliance-provided video above, Mettee discusses what parents should say to their kids in the car on the way home from a game.  Kids want to know that their parents are proud, therefore Mettee recommends always reinforcing that you enjoyed watching them play. Win or lose, a parent’s positive attitude afterwards will be contagious. Even if your child does not want to discuss their performance, it is always important to remind them that you enjoyed watching.
