One way to improve the retention rates of youth athletes is to make sure kids are having fun while playing sports, says Charlie Slagle, CEO for Tampa Bay United and President Elect of the NSCAA.
Slagle is adamant that this should be a top priority for coaches. Constantly evaluate players’ excitement to see if you’re doing your job correctly. If kids want to play again next season, that’s a valuable barometer for the success of coaches.
