30 Aug Member Update: Letter from Chairman Phil Wright & CEO Kevin Payne regarding Hurricane Harvey relief aid
Aug. 30, 2017
On behalf of US Club Soccer, we extend our thoughts and compassion to all those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Texas and Louisiana make up a significant portion of our membership, with more than 30,000 members and five NPLs between the two South Central states.
In the past week, we’ve all heard stories of heartache and distress, as well as inspiring examples of bravery and heroism. Our Membership Services Representative in Texas, Wade Breaux, is among those who has put himself in harm’s way to rescue stranded residents in the Houston area. We commend all those who have stepped up to aid directly with Hurricane Harvey victims.
This disaster transcends sports, and we can all make a difference – no matter where you live. Please consider joining us in financially supporting the relief efforts. There are numerous, reputable charities that you can donate to, and the American Red Cross has made it easy to help.
You can donate directly on the Red Cross website and select any generous amount. Or, you can text HARVEY to 90999 for a $10 donation.
We will continue to explore further opportunities to assist in relief efforts – now and throughout the rebuilding process.
Thank you for your support.
