NSCAA/US Club Soccer DOC Diploma Courses

NSCAA and USCSThe Director of Coaching Diploma is a 21-hour course created by the NSCAA and US Club Soccer to aid current and future Directors of Coaching of an American club. Technical, conceptual, leadership and administrative skills are taught with the unified goal of developing United States soccer players.

There are two steps: introductory and advanced. Upcoming courses in both stages can be found below, and will be added as additional opportunities are made available.

Curriculum, which is rich in application and theory, focuses on the following:

  • Organizational structure
  • Building a club structure
  • Leadership theory
  • Coaching methods
  • Evaluation and development of coaches and players
  • Fiscal, legal and moral responsibility

Attendees learn the individual units of a club and how they work together to achieve specific goals of a youth soccer club. Acceptance requires an NSCAA National Diploma or U.S. Soccer Federation “C” License and a letter of support from an NSCAA State or Regional Technical Coordinator or from a club board member. Please submit the letter with the application form.

Upcoming Advanced DOC Certificate Course:

The Advanced Director of Coaching Certificate (ADOC) provides soccer club leaders and those responsible for the development of players with a practical program oriented toward developing proficiency in the technical, theoretical, conceptual, managerial and ethical aspects of club management and soccer player development.

The ADOC consists of three modules scheduled over a six-month period and includes implementation of a personal project focused on enhancing player development or the management and organization of a club and/or state soccer association. The credential awarded is a non-credit certificate issued jointly by the University of Delaware and the NSCAA. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) also are awarded.
