US Club Soccer, LaLiga to host field session today at 2017 NSCAA Convention

LOS ANGELES, Calif. | The final day of the 2017 NSCAA Convention brings an informative field session hosted by US Club Soccer and LaLiga, titled “Teaching Progression – Activities for Developing Decision Makers.”

The session will be held in the Los Angeles Convention Center at the Kwik Goal Demo Field 2 from 11 a.m. to noon. LaLiga Formation Methodology experts Gari Fullaondo and Hugo Blanco will deliver the curriculum, and that session plan can be previewed here.

Saturday also serves as the closing day of the Convention Center exhibit hall, which is open from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. NSCAA Convention attendees are encouraged to stop by US Club Soccer’s booth (No. 949). Existing members and prospective members may contact US Club Soccer membership services representatives to set up meetings.

In the past two days, US Club Soccer and LaLiga have hosted both a classroom session and autograph signing, featuring Real Madrid legend, Raúl González Blanco.

“I believe in this country, and I believe in you,” Raúl said to a standing-room only crowd of coaches during Thursday’s classroom session. “The key word is passion.”

Raúl, LaLiga’s Country Manager in the United States, has quickly immersed himself in the US Club Soccer/LaLiga technical partnership. He has attended the past two LaLiga Formation Methodology courses – in Illinois and New Jersey. Joining Raúl on stage were Fullaondo and Blanco to deliver an overview of LaLiga Formation Methodology and a brief discussion of “Player Formation and Tactical Periodization.”

“We need methodology to account for all levels of our players,” Fullaondo said. The next LaLiga Formation Methodology course is Feb. 3-5 in La Jolla, Calif.

Thursday night, when the exhibit hall first opened its doors to attendees, Raúl signed autographs, took photos and even spoke with distant fans via FaceTime.
