Two session plans from 2017 ECNL/id2 National Training Camp available on SportSessionPlanner

A pair of session plans from the 2017 ECNL/id2 National Training Camp, held July 27-31 in Portland, Ore., are now available in US Club Soccer’s exclusive library.

Designed for older youth players, the sessions both focus on concepts of progression – when, how, where, and why to progress forward up the field in possession.  Both sessions begin with activities teaching tactical concepts before concluding with games to goal to insure the concepts translate to the real game.  Collectively, the two sessions teach progression as a tactical concept, within functional and position-specific activities, and in team-based settings to goal.  The topic of progression was the primary coaching theme throughout the National Training Camp, helping insure that players received detailed, high quality, and in-depth teaching on how to make better decisions on when to maintain possession and when to penetrate in all areas of the field.
