More than 100 players from all four major Hawaiian islands participate in PDPs

MAUI, Hawaii (Nov. 7, 2017) – Over two weekends in October, the Hawaii Soccer Federation and Major Island Soccer Organization Junior League held two Player Development Program (PDP) events in Maui and O’ahu, respectively.

A total of 118 top players from 19 clubs across all four major islands participated in the PDPs at the Waipi’o Soccer Complex in Waipahu, O’ahu and Keōpūolani Park in Wailuku, Maui. The Hawaii Soccer Federation further detailed the event’s scouting and posted full rosters in this article.

The O’ahu PDP, which spanned Oct. 7-8, featured players from the following clubs:

  • Escola Coxa
  • FC Hawaii
  • Hawaii Heat FC
  • Hawaii Rush SC
  • Honolulu Galaxy FC
  • Honolulu SC Bulls
  • Leahi SC
  • Surf SC Hawaii

The PDP on Maui, held Oct. 13-14, was comprised of players from:

  • Excel SC
  • FA Maui
  • Hawaii Rush SC-Maui
  • Hawaii Rush SC-Kauai
  • Kona Crush SA
  • Keahi SC
  • Lihue Arsenal
  • Lihue Cougars
  • Maui Cobras
  • Maui United SC
  • Nā Hoa O Puna
  • Team Onipaa
  • Valley Isle SA

The PDPs targeted 2003-04 girls and 2004-05 boys. Top performers are invited to attend December’s id2 Training Camp in Casa Grande, Ariz. Both id2 directors, Gerry McKeown (boys) and Tricia Taliaferro (girls), were on-site to assist in directing and scouting the PDPs.

PDPs are focused around the NPL and other top leagues in specific geographic areas. PDP invitations are based on objective scouting of elite clubs and leagues, combined with recommendations from top Directors of Coaching.
