02 Jan One month left to apply for 2018 New Jersey Cup
Feb. 1 is the deadline to apply for the 2018 New Jersey Cup, the 14th edition of the event for 10-U through 19-U boys and girls teams.
Open to all US Club Soccer member teams in the state, the event begins in late March and concludes in June 2018. The New Jersey Cup annually boasts strong registration numbers with each of the past four years including more than 900 participating teams.
The semifinals and finals will be held June 9-10 in Tinton Falls, N.J., at Capelli Sport Complex and Sycamore Recreation Complex. Historically, the semifinals and finals were held in early May, but the 2018 switch to June alleviates member teams’ typically congested May schedules.
A Super Group (most competitive) and Premier Group will be offered in the 13-U through 17-U age brackets. Champions from all Super Groups qualify directly to the National Cup XVII Finals – the culminating event of US Club Soccer’s cup-based national championship series. Premier Group winners advance to National Cup XVII Regionals.
The New Jersey Cup has a history of producing National Cup Finals contenders. At the National Cup XVI Finals this past summer, more than half of the New Jersey Cup-qualified teams advanced out of group stages to at least the national semifinals.
Non-member teams may apply to the 2018 New Jersey Cup by also registering with US Club Soccer. For more information about joining US Club Soccer, visit this web page. For direct assistance, contact Membership Services Representative Mike Gould at [email protected] for details.
