The deadline to apply to the 2018 Florida Cup has just been extended to Jan. 14. The Florida Cup is US Club Soccer’s state championship event for 12-U through 18/19-U boys and girls teams.

The single-elimination event begins with preliminary games in February-April before progressing to semifinals and finals, May 12-14 at Ellis-Methvin Park in Plant City, Fla. The 2018 Florida Cup will be the 14th edition of the tournament.

Teams are seeded by a Florida Cup seeding committee with higher seeds hosting preliminary round games. The registration fee is $275 for 12-U teams, which play 9v9. For the older age groups – that play 11v11 – the fee is $295 per team.

Winning teams from 13-U through 18/19-U age groups qualify directly to the National Cup XVII Finals, which will be held July 20-24 at Aurora Sports Park in Aurora, Colo. Other Florida Cup participating teams are welcome to enter and compete in the National Cup XVII Regional of their choice.
