Keeping up with the LaLiga Formation Methodology course in College Station, Texas

COLLEGE STATION, Texas | For the second time in three years, the United Soccer Clubs is hosting a LaLiga Formation Methodology Level 3 course in its backyard. For two-and-a-half days, March 16-18, about 60 coaches will participate in a unique coaching development setting with LaLiga methodology experts. These clinicians – Gari Fullaondo, Hugo Blanco and Zun Fullaondo – are UEFA-PRO coaches with world-class experience in Bilbao and Madrid.

The LaLiga Formation Methodology series has come a long way since that first-ever course in 2016. Through 10 courses – spanning Level 3 (introductory) and Level 2 (advanced) – more than 1,100 coaches from 340 clubs and organizations across the country have been equipped with LaLiga methodology that has produced some of the world’s best players.

Sunday, March 18:

Among the learning experiences on the final day is an introduction to the Kimet Sport planning tool. While the software platform – designed by Gari Fullaondo and implemented by top LaLiga academies – is available to all US Club Soccer membership as a Players First partner, a complimentary one-year subscription is gifted to all LaLiga Formation Methodology coaches.

Also on the docket are a pair of complementing classroom and field sessions titled: “System Development and Strategy.”

Saturday, March 17:

A full day that includes three classroom sessions and two field sessions begins at 8:30 a.m. this morning, eventually concluding at 7 p.m.

While today includes education on the physical side of the game, there is just as much emphasis on proper technical development. As the introductory level of the LaLiga Formation Methodology series, the clinicians will begin to show participating coaches how they can successfully implement methodology into their clubs.

Friday, March 16:

The opening day is a half day for attending coaches. Check-in begins promptly at 12 p.m., followed by an introduction, two classroom sessions and one field session. The course host, United Soccer Clubs, secured one of the nation’s best facilities this weekend: Texas A&M University. Classroom sessions are held at the Diamond Club at Blue Bell Park – just steps from the field session site, Ellis Field.
