01 Aug Twelfth LaLiga Formation Methodology course educates coaches in Massachusetts
TAUNTON, Mass. | The 12th LaLiga Formation Methodology course was held July 27-29 at Fore Kicks Sports Complex in Taunton, Massachusetts. The 10th Level 3 course since the program’s inception in 2016 informed 33 coaches on raising the standard of Club and Coaching Development through Players First and LaLiga methodological principles.
Attending coaches hailed from 27 clubs across 11 states and participated in field sessions, as well as classroom sessions over the 22-hour course. Of the 27 clubs represented, Perth Amboy SC of New Jersey featured the most coaches in attendance with three. The coaches that attended are listed below:
The coaches were taught by LaLiga methodology experts Gari Fullaondo, Hugo Blanco and Zunbeltz Fullaondo. The trio showed attendees how to build a proper foundation for their clubs – one built on proven methodology and tactics. Fullaondo, the series leader, was the Director of Methodology at Athletic Bilbao, and all three are UEFA-PRO coaches. Their vast experience at the upper levels of the sport are detailed here.
Through the 12th course in the history of the series, more than 1,200 coaches from about 375 clubs have been educated in LaLiga Formation Methodology. View the participating clubs leaderboard here.
US Club Soccer will hold the next LaLiga Formation Methodology course Aug. 3-5 at Elmhurst University in Chicago. As a Level 2 course, those who attended this Massachusetts course – and all coaches who have completed Level 3 – are eligible for Level 2, where LaLiga clinicians go into more detail on technical and tactical principles.
LaLiga Formation Methodology is a staple of US Club Soccer’s Players First initiative, which is a branded, holistic club soccer experience for parents and players, emphasizing the development of each individual to his or her full potential, and helping parents make better choices about where their children should play.
