CHARLESTON, S.C. (April 10, 2023) – April 21 is the final day to register to the 2023 WNY/WPA/WV Cup, US Club Soccer’s state championship event for U-9 through U-19 boys and girls teams in Western New York, Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The tournament will be held May 19-21 at Erie Sports Center in Erie, Pennsylvania with U-13 and older champions earning free entries to the National Cup XXII Midwest Regional the following month in Waukegan, Illinois.

The 2023 WNY/WPA/WV Cup is organized by the Great Lakes Alliance NPL. Participating teams will compete in either Super Group (most competitive) or Premier Group divisions. The tournament format is round robin with knockout games; teams are guaranteed three games. U-9 and U-10 teams play 7v7, U-11 and U-12 teams play 9v9, and U-13 through U-19 teams play 11v11.
The National Cup XXII Midwest Regional, the prize of the tournament for the older age groups, offers a pathway to the National Cup XXII Finals. The National Cup is US Club Soccer’s longest standing competition, celebrating its 22nd edition this summer. It is a cup-based competition that incorporates state cups and National Cup Regionals and Finals.
Teams must hold US Club Soccer passcards at the time of the event to participate. Teams currently not carded with US Club Soccer may do so by contacting Todd Bailey, North Central General Manager, at email@example.com.
