I-10 League awards fall 2021 season champions

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Jan. 28, 2021) – The I-10 League concluded its 2021 season this past November with 15 champions representing nine different youth clubs across the Interstate-10 corridor: Louisiana, Mississippi, South Alabama, South Georgia and the Florida Panhandle.

Notable club accomplishments include the following: Associated Soccer Group (ASG) Florida FC, from Tallahassee, came away with four league wins this season – two boys teams and two girls teams. Newcomer Gulf Coast Rangers FC, of Daphne, Ala.., earned three league titles – two girls teams and one boys team.

The I-10 League prides itself on reduced costs and reduced travel times for soccer families. The league also offers quality competition, professional league management and support, and postseason pathways for league champions at US Club Soccer regional and national competitions.

This year, the league finished the season with a 98.4 percent scheduling effectiveness rate, the highest of its 3-year history. The I-10 League expanded into Louisiana in 2021, adding the Gulf South Texans (Baton Rouge) and the New Orleans Spartans FC (New Orleans). The league also bolstered its presence in Alabama by adding Gulf Coast Rangers FC and Gulf Coast Texans (Mobile, Ala.).

Matches were hosted by FC Dallas-Emerald Coast, ASG Florida FC, Perdido Bay Rush FC, West Florida SC, Gulf Coast Rangers FC and Foley Sports Tourism. The contributions of these partners were integral to the success of the league.

The I-10 League is well positioned for future success. 2021 saw a 25 percent increase in the number of teams added to the league with a total of 80 teams competing in the fall. The number of girls teams in the league grew by 36 percent from 2020.
