Letter from US Club Soccer CEO Mike Cullina: US Club Soccer/U.S. Soccer update

Jan. 13, 2026

US Club Soccer members:

I’m writing to share important and exciting news in US Club Soccer’s history. Effective today, the management agreements with US Club Soccer previously held by a subsidiary of Wasserman have been assigned to U.S. Soccer. The result is US Club Soccer, while still a National Association member of U.S. Soccer, is now also joining the newly formed “Soccer Services” division of the Federation, operating with the same autonomy we’ve had for 25 years but with a greater level of support and resources. If you haven’t already read the press release, you may do so here.

It’s a momentous time for our organization. We’ve often said: “If it’s good for soccer, it’s good for US Club Soccer.” The order of that statement is not accidental; we’ve long considered ourselves as serving the sport first, trusting by doing so – even structuring ourselves as such – our organization will grow.

The US Club Soccer board and I all think that holds true here. We’re now not just members of the biggest, most influential soccer organization in the country; we’re part of it. With that comes more opportunities, resources and impact. This is a significant step in operationalizing U.S. Soccer’s “Pathways Strategy” – ensuring that players, coaches, clubs, leagues and families experience a clearer, more affordable, and higher-quality journey through the game. By aligning soccer services as part of U.S. Soccer’s “In Service to Soccer” strategy, we can accelerate our ability to grow participation, lower costs and deliver consistent, high-quality support nationwide.

What does US Club Soccer being part of the “Soccer Services” division of U.S. Soccer mean for you as a member? For the foreseeable future, it’s business as usual. We will continue to serve you as we have: meeting your administration needs, supporting your programming, leading in safeguarding & compliance measures, and linking your local and regional opportunities to national platforms that excite our members. Of course, as new and expanded opportunities arise, we’ll communicate with you. For years, we’ve enjoyed access and trust with U.S. Soccer, leveraging that to influence change and opportunities that benefit all of us. We look forward to deepening that in the months and years to follow.

Thank you, as always, for all you do to grow the sport and support the millions of youth athletes who play the beautiful game.

Sincerely,

Mike Cullina
CEO, US Club Soccer
