National Cup XXI Southeast Regional winners clinch qualification to Finals

GREENSBORO, N.C. (June 22, 2022) – This year’s venue for the National Cup Southeast Regional is no stranger to championship performances, having hosted the National Cup Finals in 2014. And now for the 13 teams that just won their respective divisions at the National Cup XXI Southeast Regional, they hope it’s a sign of more National Cup glory to come.

Seventy-six teams from the Southeast region participated in the four-day tournament at Bryan Park Sports Complex in Greensboro, N.C., populating U-13 through U-19 boys and girls age groups.

All champions (listed below) have now earned qualification to the National Cup XXI Finals, to be held July 14-21 at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Denver, Colorado.

Seven clubs successfully defended their Southeast Regional championships from last year: Carolina Velocity FC, Charlotte Eagles SC, Inter Development Futbol, NASA Tophat, NC Fusion, One7 Academy and Sports Paradize Soccer Academy.

In the U-15 boys Super Group, Carolina Velocity FC PUK Elite ’07 and ASG FL ’07 battled through group stage – both arriving to the division title game with undefeated records. Carolina Velocity FC came away with a 2-1 win.

In the combined U-16/U-17 girls age group, Florida Elite Soccer Academy rallied for the Regional championship. After losing its final group stage game against Charlotte Independence SC ECRL North, the two teams faced off again in the finals. This time, Florida Elite prevailed, 1-0.
