Player Registration




PLAYER REGISTRATION

 

Registration is required of all players participating in US Club Soccer-operated or -sanctioned programming. Players who are not currently registered with US Club Soccer are not allowed to participate in US Club Soccer programming, nor are they covered by US Club Soccer insurance.


PLAYER REGISTRATION / MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

One is registered with US Club Soccer when the following requirements are completed and current.

Once the org admin/club registrar adds a person to GotSport with a role of Player and affiliation of US Club, the applicable requirements and forms will be available via the dashboard of that person being registered. Also, a GotSport account will be created for that person if one does not already exist.

To access your dashboard and requirements, please be sure you log into your GotSport account using the same email address used by your org admin/club registrar. (Help article: How to log in)

  1. Registration/membership purchase
    • Applicability: All players.
    • Membership types/categories: Youth – Competitive / Youth – Super Rec / Youth – Rec / Adult
    • Timeframe: Each registration year (ex: 2021-22, 2022-23)
    • Completed by: This is usually completed by the member org admin/registrar on behalf of the player being registered.
  2. Proof of birth verification 
    • Applicability: For Youth – Competitive players only
    • Timeframe: Once
    • Completed by: Uploaded by parent/player or member org admin/registrar, and verified by US Club Soccer.
    • Accepted documents: birth certificate, passport, driver’s license, other document issued by the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security or U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services, or other document as determined by US Club Soccer.
  3. US Club Soccer Form R002 (Player Info, Medical Treatment Authorization, Liability Waiver/Release and Consent Form) 
    • Applicability: All players.
    • Must be completed via US Club Soccer’s registration platform or certified by a member org admin as being on file with the member org.

  4. SafeSport Core or Refresher Training (if applicable)
    • Applicability:  For all youth players who will be 18+ years old during the applicable registration year, and any adult player who is on a team with a Minor Athlete (anyone who is under 18 years old).
    • Timeframe: For 2021-22, must be completed on or after June 1, 2021. For 2022-23, must be completed on or after June 1, 2022.
    • Completed by: The player being registered, with parental consent for those who are under 18 at the time of completion.

  5. Sex Offender Registry-Disqualification-Suspension Review (if applicable)
    • Applicability: For all youth players who will be 18+ years old during the applicable registration year, and any adult player who is on a team with a Minor Athlete (anyone who is under 18 years old).
    • What it is: Verification that the player is not included on any of the following sex offender registries, or disqualification/suspension lists, pursuant to US Club Soccer Policy 13.08, as well as U.S. Soccer and U.S. Center for SafeSport requirements:
    • Completed by: Administrator of the member org who purchased the player’s membership/affiliated the player with US Club Soccer.
    • Timeframe: Once, at the time of initial registration once this requirement is applicable. Ongoing checks are managed by US Club Soccer.
