US Club Soccer encourages members to take part in Positive Coaching Alliance offerings to provide a positive, character-building soccer experience for players. Positive Coaching Alliance helps to advance the Players First pillars of Coaching Development, Parent Engagement & Education and Player Health & Safety.
This award is given to youth and high school sports coaches throughout the U.S., who strive to win, while teaching life lessons through sports. New this year, all male soccer coaches nominated by Nov. 10 will also be considered for the Dove Men+Care Caring Coach Of The Year Award.
Through the Positive Coaching Alliance / US Club Soccer partnership, Players First clubs will have preferred access to Positive Coaching Alliance educational resources for three Players First pillars: Coaching Development, Parent Engagement & Education and Player Health & Safety.
These resources include videos and podcasts featuring past World Cup and MLS players and coaches from the Positive Coaching Alliance National Advisory Board, which includes notables like Brandi Chastain, Tony DiCicco, Joy Fawcett, Julie Foudy, Alexi Lalas, Kristine Lilly and Claudio Reyna. The partnership also provides US Club Soccer member clubs and leagues with discounted rates to make Positive Coaching Alliance workshops a local commodity.
Positive Coaching Alliance develops BETTER ATHLETES, BETTER PEOPLE through resources for youth and high school sports coaches, parents, administrators and student-athletes.
In addition to hundreds of free audio-video and printable tips and tools at www.devzone.positivecoach.org, Positive Coaching Alliance has partnered with roughly 3,000 schools and youth sports organizations nationwide to deliver live group workshops, online courses and books by founder Jim Thompson that help those involved in youth and high school sports create a positive, character-building youth sports culture.
