South Atlantic Premier League welcomes new clubs for 2024-25 season

CHARLESTON, S.C. (April 17, 2024) – The South Atlantic Premier League, a member of the National Premier Leagues platform, has announced its member clubs for the 2024-25 season. A founding member league of the NPL platform, the South Atlantic Premier League has grown and evolved in concert with the overarching NPL structure.

Now, ahead of its 13th season, the league has compiled a strong cohort of clubs based in North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina and north Alabama. Competition spans U-13 through U-19 boys and girls age groups:

  • Armada FC (TN; girls)
  • Carolina Champions League state cup champion (boys and girls)
  • Carolina Champions League season champion (boys and girls)
  • FC Athletico (NC; boys and girls)
  • Fox Soccer Academy (NC; boys)
  • Kings Hammer Murfreesboro (TN; boys and girls)
  • NCFC Youth (NC; boys and girls)
  • North Georgia Soccer Academy (GA; girls)
  • One Knoxville Youth Club (TN; girls)
  • Roswell SC (GA; boys)
  • Southern Soccer Academy – South (GA; boys and girls)
  • United Futbol Academy – Norcross (GA; boys)

The integration with the neighboring Carolina Champions League (North Carolina-based) is new for the 2024-25 season, offering Carolina Champions League winners a promotion opportunity to the NPL.

The NPL, which formed in 2011, is nationwide platform connecting 17 regional leagues and more than 2,500 teams with a national postseason pathway. The annual NPL Finals is the coveted destination of all participants through year-long, league-based competition. Since 2019, the NPL Finals has been hosted at the prestigious DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Denver, Colorado. This year’s finale will be held July 8-15.

“United Futbol Academy is excited to return to the National Premier Leagues as a member of the South Atlantic Premier League,” said Iggy Moleka, Executive Director of Soccer for UFA. “Our main goal is to make sure that we create a clear competitive pathway for our boys and girls teams at UFA Norcross, and this national platform will provide a top level of competition. The South Atlantic Premier League has shown a lot of growth and success in the Southeast.”

“Fox Soccer Academy of the Carolinas is excited to join the National Premier Leagues as a member of the South Atlantic Premier League,” said Chad Metzler, Executive Director and co-founder of Fox Soccer Academy. “This national platform will further provide our boys teams with a top level of competition in a professional environment. The South Atlantic Premier League has a long-standing history of success and quality in the southeast region, and we are pleased to be joining many of the top clubs in the region.”

“We are thrilled to be part of the National Premier Leagues,” said Tinashe Mugabe, President and founder of FC Athletico. “The league will provide our boys and girls the platform to grow through high-level competition. We are thankful for the opportunity to compete in a league that shares our values and is unwaveringly committed to player development.”

“The One Knox girls program is excited to join the NPL,” said Derrick Long, Girls Sporting Director of One Knoxville Youth Club. “We feel that both One Knox and the NPL girls are both on a trajectory path that will push player development and add exposure to the next level. We look forward to what the NPL will bring to our players.”

“We are excited to be part of the NPL’s South Atlantic Premier League, and we strongly believe this is the right step for our club and our players to continue to develop,” said Kevin Kratz, Director of Coaching for Roswell SC. “We are looking forward to the high level of competition that the NPL will provide to our club.”
