Update regarding US Club Soccer player and staff registration for ECNL participants

US Club Soccer & ECNL club leaders,

We are pleased to share the following updates regarding the US Club Soccer player and staff registration process for ECNL participants, which are the result of collaboration between US Club Soccer, ECNL, GotSport, and Athlete One:

• Effective as of June 1, 2026, and moving forward for the 2026-27 season, all US Club Soccer player and staff registration for ECNL participants will take place in GotSport. ECNL clubs already have US Club Soccer-affiliated accounts in GotSport, and most US Club Soccer staff registration requirements for ECNL participants are already completed via GotSport. This change will move player registration to GotSport and eliminate the need for duplicative staff registration efforts.

• ECNL organizational and competition management will remain in Athlete One, consistent with previous years. This includes all competition setup, scheduling, rosters, and game day operations. Athlete One remains the platform of record for all ECNL competition activity.

• In the new arrangement, once an ECNL player or staff is registered with US Club Soccer via GotSport, the appropriate data will be sent and synced in near-real time from GotSport to Athlete One via an API for ECNL rostering and competition purposes.

• To aid in the transition, ECNL players registered with US Club Soccer via Athlete One in the 2025-26 season will be transferred and available in the applicable club’s GotSport account. Previously completed requirements, such as proof of birth verification and completion of US Club Soccer Form R002, will be included and do not need to be repeated. We anticipate players registered through March 31 will be available in GotSport in April, and additional batches of players will be added subsequently on a periodic basis.

We believe these updates will create a more streamlined and efficient registration experience for all ECNL clubs while also meeting US Club Soccer’s need for a centralized system for registration compliance and management. Additional details, step-by-step instructions, and support resources will be shared in the coming months.
